Menlo Park Chocolate Company grew from a humble pastime into a true family craft. What began in Josh’s kitchen as a quiet hobby quickly became a place where technique, artistry, culinary curiosity, and creativity blended together. Chocolate offered a rare kind of joy — the precision of tempering, the beauty of design, and the freedom to experiment with flavors that feel both imaginative and nostalgic.

Working in small batches in Menlo Park, Josh focused on sourcing exceptional ingredients and pairing them with playful, memorable combinations. Before long, friends, coworkers, and family began requesting chocolates for birthdays, celebrations, and special occasions. Each batch led to another, and the small hobby continued to grow.

A defining moment came when Josh entered a well-regarded regional chocolate culinary competition — an event known for attracting skilled artisans and seasoned professionals. His presentation of hand-crafted truffles and intricately molded chocolates earned top honors, earning praise for both technical execution and creative flair. That recognition, coupled with steady encouragement from those who had tasted his work along the way, brought clarity to the idea of building something more enduring.

Menlo Park Chocolate Company took shape as a true family venture. Josh’s children, Tyler and Katie, contribute at every step — from early flavor ideas to decorative details to carefully assembling each package. Their presence adds an unmistakable warmth to the process, transforming each creation into something deeply personal.

Every bar and truffle still carries the same spirit that shaped the very first batches: a love for craft, a sense of wonder, and a belief that chocolate should bring a moment of delight to anyone who tastes it.

We’re grateful to share our family’s passion with your table, and we hope each piece brings you as much joy as it brought us in creating it.
